No this isn’t a newfangled style of self-development or leadership.
It’s called a Laban Effort and it’s a technique I’ve taken from my acting training and applied to my clients.
It helps me to find their voice, so they stand out out when I write their books.
For example:
If you PRESS, your style of communication is likely to be firm, direct and sustained.
If you FLOAT, you come across as gentle and use words that indirectly communicate your intention. Despite your soft approach, your attention is focused.
If you PUNCH, your style of communication is firm and direct like someone who is a PRESS-er, but your words are sharp. Your sentences are short. You sound punchy.
Often our writing style can be different to our speakings style so knowing how you communicate in person will help you translate it authentically to the page.
If you want to discover how to use more techniques like this in your writing, book a 1:1 session with me.
Do you PUNCH, FLOAT or PRESS?
