Ghostwriting
What Is Ghostwriting?
Ghostwriting is where someone else writes for you without taking the credit for it.
Ghostwriters are everywhere. They write the songs you hear on the radio, many of the books you’ve read, speeches you’ve heard, and much more.
Most people hire ghostwriters because they are short on time, energy, or their skills lie elsewhere.
But, the one thing all people who use ghostwriters have in common is, is they have a great idea and a powerful story to share.
If you have an abundance of ideas, experiences and expertise, trust in a ghostwriter to help you create a masterpiece you will be proud of.
How It Works
The outline below is designed to give you a rough idea of how I work. Every book is different. Every client is different.
I will work around what works best for you and your book; your goals will always come first.
The full ghostwriting process can take anywhere from 6 -12 months depending on the scope of the project.
Step 0. Ideation & Focus Workshops
Before doing any ghostwriting, I recommend taking my Ideation & Focus Workshops.
Two 90-minute workshop sessions to explore your ideas and bring your book into sharp focus. It’s a low-risk investment that gives you a taster of what it’s like to work with me and what it’d be like to write your book.
After the workshops, if you’d like to work with me as your ghostwriter, the next steps would follow:
Step 1. Plan (Month 1-2)
-
- SWOT Analysis and Research
- Build an Author Voice
- Create a Book Outline
Step 2. Write (Months 2 Onwards)
-
- Weekly/ BiWeekly Interview Process To Gather Content
- Intro & Chapter 1 Sent For Tone Check And Accuracy
- Ongoing Drafting and Feedback to Ensure Manuscript Meets Your Goals
- This Section Can Take Anywhere From 4 months to 11 Months Depending On Your Book
Step 3. Polish (Final Month)
-
- Final Read-Through Of Entire Manuscript
- Final Comments And Feedback (Up To Three Rounds)
- Put 4-6 Weeks Aside For This Bit
- Prepare For Proofreader, Editor, Formatter etc.
Next Steps
Once the manuscript is written, that’s not the end! You need to get it packaged and ready for publishing. I have contacts I trust that I can connect you with, or you are free to use your own.
That’s it! You’ve written a book! Time to dance.
I’m very impressed with your ability to take all of these random, abstract ideas that actually makes sense. You know, it goes beyong ghostwriting, I think of it as more of a strategist, somebody that can take these abstract concepts and bring them together in a cohesive articulated manner that conveys the message that I was trying to get out there.
It’s been a really, really great tool for me. It’s probably one of the best business assets that I’ve had.
And thats given me so much more confidence going forward as a business owner.
